GITEX GLOBAL 2025 - Innovation, sore feet, and the last dance at DWTC

Well… that was one hell of a week!

GITEX GLOBAL 2025 has wrapped up, and what a show it was. The scale, the energy, the sheer number of people. It’s no wonder this event has become the technology gathering everyone wants to be part of.

And yes, this was the last time GITEX will be held in its traditional home at the Dubai World Trade Centre. A bit of nostalgia for sure, but if you spent any time sitting in traffic last week (and let’s be honest, we all did), you’ll understand why it’s moving. It’s simply outgrown its roots, quite literally.

Innovation. Innovation. Innovation.

Everywhere you looked there was something new, bold, or downright futuristic. From AI-driven everything, to sustainable data centres, to the latest in cybersecurity, it was like standing in a live preview of the next decade.

The number of global standards, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions on display was incredible. It’s a real validation of just how central the Middle East has become to the global tech scene. We’ve known it for a while, but walking the halls last week made it impossible to ignore.

Deals, MoUs, and the best bit - human connections

Sure, there were big deals being done, MoUs being signed, and major announcements left, right, and centre. But the real magic, as always, happened in the conversations, the people you bump into, the new faces you meet, and those chance discussions that lead to something bigger down the line.

That’s the beauty of GITEX. It’s as much about people as it is about technology.

A personal highlight - Khazna’s stand.

Given my bias toward all things security and infrastructure, I have to mention the Khazna stand. Wow.

They showcased a model of the Stargate Data Centre Campus, which is being billed as one of the most advanced and ambitious data centre projects ever seen in the world. To give you an idea of scale, we’re talking about a hyperscale campus designed for AI workloads, built with sustainability, regulation, and security at its core.

The model alone had a “this is the future” vibe. You could see the UAE’s commitment to building something genuinely world-class. From a security perspective, it’s going to be one to admire. Truly next-level thinking.

Evenings, energy, and a bit of chaos

As always, the social side didn’t disappoint either. Every evening was buzzing, catch-ups, networking dinners, and that post-show buzz that makes the sore feet almost worth it. Almost.

The only downside? The traffic. Let’s just say, if patience is a virtue, Dubai made saints of us all last week.

In summary...

GITEX 2025, you were incredible. You reminded us why this region continues to punch above its weight in technology and innovation. You gave us a glimpse of what’s next, and it’s exciting.

Now it’s time to rest, reset, and get ready for the next one (and all the other brilliant events in between).

Thank you GITEX, you did not disappoint...........Other than the traffic, of course.
